What is your pricing structure?
Our pricing is based on project size and complexity. Every project, no matter the scope, starts off with a retainer fee that is used as service hours to get the project started.
After the retainer fee has depleted, we bill hourly for our design services. Design Services include
- sourcing furniture and fixtures
- design development
- on-site meetings
- studio meetings
- subcontractor meetings
- proposals
- ordering and procurement
- scheduling installations and subcontractors, etc.
How long will my project take?
We will be happy to provide a realistic project timeline for renovations and furnishing projects. Every project is unique, and we respect timelines and budgets.
- New Construction and Renovations vary depending on the builder/contractor’s timeline
- Full Furnishing and Design Refresh Projects can take 4-6 months to complete.
How involved in the process will I need to be?
Your involvement includes initial consultations, design presentations, and feedback sessions. We handle all logistics, procurement, and installations and ordering of project goods.
How do we communicate during the project?
We communicate primarily via email for efficiency. Text messages are reserved for urgent matters. We provide regular updates and are available for calls during business hours. Learn more on our pricing and communications page!
Do you manage the contractors and subcontractors?
Yes, we manage all aspects of working with contractors and subcontractors, ensuring your project runs smoothly.

What's the difference between full furnishing and a design refresh?
Full furnishing involves complete design and procurement of furniture for your home, while a design refresh enhances existing spaces with new accents, art, and accessories.

Do you work with any specific styles or are you adaptable to various aesthetics?
While our design style tends to lead traditionally with a love of color, we also love a challenge to immerse ourselves in other design aesthetics.
Do you handle purchases and installations?
Yes! The design process and our services require all project goods be purchased through SCD.
We work closely with our trade-only vendors in establishing strong relationships. This allows us to inspect all project goods and manage the quality and craftsmanship.
If any products arrived damaged or not up to our standards, we handle the logistics of filing damage claims and shipment of replacement items.
How do you keep a project on budget and on time?
Our proven success with our process ensures your project will be on time and on budget. We are very transparent, and if what you have envisioned doesn’t align with your timeline and/or budget we are happy to discuss options with you.
What should I prepare for our first meeting?
The best way to prepare is thinking a list of your design preferences, any specific needs or challenges, and an idea of your budget.
